After a spontaneous self-lead tour of a graveyard in St. Mary's GA, my friend Courtney and I happened upon an Eagle Scout project that had rehabilitated a few gravestones. The concept was simple. Find something that needs to be improved and do something nice for the community.
And boom! We had an idea. How hard would it be to do an Eagle Scout Project? Yeah. An Eagle Scout Project. The kind where we go home and find something that needs doing and we just do it. I mean, how hard could it be? Why not?
First off, we are girls. Second, neither one of us wields a hammer or knows how to saw a 2x4 and we don't know any boys that can do it for us. Third, like most young urbanites we're not exactly part of a any community, so we sorta need to find one that needs our do-good services.
We've talked about it on and off for months now.
So here goes. Look out community. We're going to earn our badges and work our way up to an Eagle Scout. Little old ladies need help crossing the street? We're there!
This is me:
This is Courtney:
And those are our best Eagle poses.

I can't even begin to tell you how disturbing the image of you 2 helping an old lady across the street is in my mind. Good luck! To all of the old ladies out there trying to cross the street.
ReplyDeletei'm very excited to follow along with this project. terribly, marvelously cool. i love it!!
ReplyDeletebtw, i think it might be cheating for you to earn the "water and soil conservation" merit badge. just sayin'.
I recognize that ass! What's up Heat-jer? Really? that is what scares you the most about this? I'll keep the frail old things away from Courtney. She can carry their bags for them.
ReplyDeleteMols....we should sign up your dad as our "merit counselor" ha!
